Having Mum by my side has lots of advantages, for eg. there will be good food, beverages at my convenience, a good listener to my gossips, lastly, the best thing is that she can be my companion for watching intriguing weird movies. It's a good weather today, feel like bringing my parents to Summer Palace. Always felt that it is a very conducive and scenic place for stroll and chat. Watched my favorite Woody Allen's 'Whatever work' yesterday. Although it's not as awesome as 情陷巴塞罗那 (My Story in Barcelona), some parts make me feel that this director is really cute. Watching his movie is tantamount to reading his novel, understand his continuously changing world outlook.

It’s good to specialise in something. I remember there was once where I had to face a normal mineral bottle and shoot for half a month. Because of different angles, different rays and shadows, the effects of what had been captured are different. Eventually, I had the bottle cut and crushed, the effect from the shoot is naturally different. I submitted the assignment to my teacher (but of cause, there’s the artsy feel). I always had to test my imagination.

After much deliberation, I bought a changeable lens camera for myself today. My figure was nowhere to be seen in the shooting. This camera will seem too professional for self taking. I always hoped that I can improve my photography skills. The year before, I specially took photography course in Beijing Film Academy. Because time was tight, I had to work while studying, and when it was photography lesson, I often had to borrow an idiot-proof camera to tackle my assignment. This however hinders my learning process, making learning more difficult.

A close friend once said having to eat with me can make him/her appetite bigger, it’s like watching an advertisement. It’s really early, I came back after dining out with my parents already. The comfortably warm air-conditioning in the car, together with the witticism of the radio host and electronic music make me feel satisfied. Mum responded positively when I asked her out for a short walk downstairs. Yesterday, my little niece and I work together to repair the big window at the bedroom balcony. We kept the curtain into the house to prevent it from slapping around by the wind and to not having to remind me how strong is the wind outside every night. My hands are covered with dust. And because of my limited capability, the lock on one of the windows was damaged by me~ Which means, it cant be closed. My little niece immediately told me that there’s still a solution! Finally she used a transparent tape to seal the window securely.

I really miss the days filming ’14 Blades’ and like the feeling of filming the show in the atmosphere of the nature. Of course, one would have to not mind being tanned! Also, one has to be used to the company of the sun at around 8 or 9pm. I remember the ice coffee at the crew tastes great, and in the hot July, August period, at the vast desert, the aroma from butter cubes in the coffee~ Once you close your eyes, you can easily forget where you are.

My brother recommended me a book, ‘Arnaux, the chronicle of a homing pigeon’ by Ernest Thompson Seton. The pigeon as the protagonist make the story emotionally powerful. Though ‘Animals’ was what he read when he was Primary 4, I was captivated and touched by the innocent persistence of the animals of the world.

I know nothing about the essence of zen meditation. I was surprised that I sort of understand Master Shen Yan’s ‘Song of Mind’ and read It with relish. Feels like the topic on meditation is able to relieve and counsel the worrisome mental state of the people. Anytime, anywhere, one can acquire some tranquility from momentary reading of the book. Learning to let go requires a methodology.
